The University of Arizona women’s basketball team beat No. 15 Utah 71-70 in overtime Sunday in Tucson, Ariz., after both teams went scoreless in the final two minutes of regulation.
Sophomore Kailyn Gilbert scored 22 points and made two free throws with one second left in overtime to lift the Wildcats (10-5, 2-1 Pac-12) to the victory.
The Utes (11-4, 1-2 Pac-12) lost for the second time in three games to start their Pac-12 campaign.
Alissa Pili led Utah with 18 points, Kennady McQueen scored 16, Jenna Johnson had 13 and Dasia Young added 12.
Gilbert’s 22 points led Arizona, while Kailyn Gilbert added 20.
Arizona shot 47 percent from 3-point range while Utah ended the game shooting 31 percent from 3.
Utah will begin a four-game homestand on Friday against Stanford (6 p.m., Pac-12 Networks).
