Timmy Allen took noticeable steps forward in his game this winter, and the Pac-12 coaches agreed.
The University of Utah junior forward was named All-Pac-12 first team on Monday, a year after he was given a second-team nod as a sophomore.
Through 23 games, Allen is averaging 16.8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the Utes, who open the Pac-12 Tournament Wednesday against Washington (5 p.m., Pac-12 Networks) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Allen is the seventh Utah player to earn All-Pac-12 first-team honors since the school joined the league in 2011-12.
