Utah Utes football to open spring practice March 2, Red-White Game set for April 11

University of Utah cornerbacks coach Sharieff Shah gave the fan base something to chew on Monday evening.

Shah tweeted out the full schedule for spring practice, which will begin on March 2 and culminate with the annual Red-White Game on April 11. The Red-White Game, as always, will serve as the 15th and final spring practice.

The Utes, 11-3 in 2019 and winners of the Pac-12 South for the second consecutive season, will practice on March 2, 3, and 5 before taking the following week off for spring break. Upon return, Utah will practice three times per week over four weeks, capped by Red-White.

A slew of position battles will be dominant storylines this spring, none bigger than quarterback where South Carolina graduate transfer Jake Bentley and redshirt sophomore Cameron Rising will vie to be there starter. Rising will be a redshirt sophomore after spending a year in residency.

Utah will open the 2020 season Sept. 3 vs. BYU at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
