Utah State beats undermanned New Orleans 82-50

Justin Bean and RJ Eytle-Rock scored 14 points apiece to lead the Utah State men’s basketball team to an 82-50 victory over New Orleans on Saturday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan.

Trevin Dorius scored 12 points and nine rebounds for the Aggies (7-3), who snapped a two-game slide, and Rylan Jones tied his career high with 11 assists.

Bean added eight rebounds while scoring in double figures for the 10th time this year and for the 55th time in his career. The senior forward now has 805 rebounds in his career as he moved ahead of Spencer Nelson (800) and into eighth place all-time in school history. Eytle-Rock’s 14 points were a season high while he matched his career high in made 3-pointers with four in eighth attempts.

Simeon Kirkland led the Privateers (3-7) with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

New Orleans was shorthanded for the non-conference game as multiple Privateer student-athletes and support staff were entered into health and safety protocols. The affected student-athletes and staff did not make the trip to Logan.
