The Utah Royals FC will don new uniforms when the National Women’s Soccer League continues play with the Challenge Cup this summer.
The Royals unveiled their new uniforms Wednesday morning in tandem with a new sponsorship for the front of the jersey. The jerseys will have Soleil Energy’s name on it through the 2022 season.
Soleil Energy is a virtual power plant contractor and operator that aims to help households create zero emissions and provide renewable energy. The unveiling was held at a loft apartment complex in Herriman that uses Soleil’s technology.
URFC owner Dell Loy Hansen said in a statement that the and the solar company shares the club’s vision of “advancing green initiatives and aspiring to build the world’s best equitable professional sports organization.”
“With their valued support and collaboration, we will continue to progress towards those goals while continuing the growth of women’s soccer for fans throughout the region,” Hansen said.
The new jerseys are blue and depict the Wasatch Mountains on the font in bright yellow outline, the same color as the shorts. The goalkeeper kit is red.
Earlier this month, the organization announced Royal Title as its sponsor for the back of its home and away jerseys. It’s the first back-of-jersey sponsor in the club’s history.
