Each week, we get that much closer to the NBA playoffs.
And each week, it seems like the Utah Jazz is going to land somewhere between the fourth and sixth seed in the Western Conference playoff picture.
Now there are some good and bad in any seed the Jazz land on. If they’re the fourth or fifth seed, Utah would see either the Denver Nuggets or Dallas Mavericks, and would likely get the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the playoffs. If the Jazz falls to the sixth seed or moves up to the third seed, they’d likely see the current No. 3 seed Memphis Grizzlies — a rematch of last year’s first-round playoffs — and if Utah beats the Grizz, they’d likely see Golden State in round two. If the Jazz gets the No. 3 seed, they could see Memphis, Dallas or Denver, then face the Dubs in the Western Conference semis.
So all this said, which would be better for the Jazz?
On the latest episode of The Tribune’s “How ‘Bout This Jazz” podcast, host/moderator Xoel Cardenas and Tribune Jazz beat reporters Andy Larsen and Eric Walden give their thoughts on which seed would be best for the Utah Jazz so they can make a deep run in the Western Conference.
The guys also talk about former Jazzman Joe Ingles’ recent comments about being traded by Utah. Ingles said he understands the business component of the game but remains frustrated on account of feeling like he still could have found a way to remain an asset to Utah.
Lastly, the trio talks about Nets-76ers rivalry and share what sports memorabilia they own (or wish to own).
