The “How ‘Bout This Jazz” podcast welcomes a special guest: the one and only Holly Rowe.
She’s an Emmy-nominated journalist who’s covered sports both in Utah and nationally for decades. From being a sports writer at the Daily Utah Chronicle to calling and reporting at major events on ESPN, Holly has been and continues to be a staple of sports journalism.
Some of the events she’s covered include the World Cup, ABC Saturday Night Football, NCAA men’s and women’s college basketball, Women’s Final Four, Women’s College World Series and major bowl games like the Rose Bowl. Locally, you may know of Holly’s work covering BYU athletics for many years, as well as when she was an analyst for the Utah Starzz.
This Jazz season, Holly returned home to serve as an analyst on AT&T SportsNet while continuing her ESPN duties.
On this episode, host Xoel Cardenas and Tribune Jazz beat reporters Andy Larsen and Eric Walden sit down and talk to Holly about, well, a little bit of everything. The guys ask Holly about being back in Utah and covering the Jazz, as well as what have been some of the things she’s learned nearly halfway through her first season as the team’s TV analyst.
Holly opens up about her busy schedule, as she continues her ESPN duties alongside her AT&T SportsNet responsibilities. She also gives insight on interviewing athletes and coming up with questions in the moment.
