Jazz beat writer Tony Jones has been at The Salt Lake Tribune for 10 years, covering high school sports, the Utah State Aggies and, of course, the Utah Jazz. Last Friday was his final day at the paper, though, as he leaves for other opportunities, so we’re giving him a fond farewell.
Of course, we also talk about the Jazz. With just a week until training camp, there are some questions around the team we’d like answered. Who’s going to be playing the backup shooting guard role? Who will be the first man off the bench, Thabo Sefolosha or Jae Crowder? Will Grayson Allen find playing time?
Here’s a rundown of this week’s podcast:
At 1:10 • Tony talks about his 10-year career, and nearly cries.
At 5:00 • Tony’s favorite games that he’s covered.
At 18:30 • How will Jazz handle expectations in training camp?
At 22:20 • The Jazz expect to play Grayson Allen right away.
At 24:30 • Jae Crowder or Thabo Sefolosha?
At 28:30 • What will Dante Exum bring?
At 30:30 • Has Derrick Favors' 3-point shot improved? Is he skinnier?
At 39:55 • Tony’s final thank-yous.
