Utah’s top high school basketball recruit has both the Utes and Cougars among his top-six choices

Farmington’s Collin Chandler announced his list of finalists on Twitter

The top high school basketball recruit in Utah just narrowed his list of potential universities to six.

Collin Chandler of Farmington High School announced on Twitter that his final six schools are the University of Utah, BYU, Oregon, Arizona, Stanford and Gonzaga.

Chandler performed well over the summer for Utah Prospects, an AAU team backed by Adidas. Chandler is expected to make an official visit to Utah sometime this fall, and he’s also expected to visit Stanford and Arizona.

New Utes coach Craig Smith offered Chandler a scholarship on only his second day on the job.

Chandler at one point considered Utah State and even visited the campus in the spring, but that school was eliminated from consideration.

Chandler is a four-star recruit, per 247sports.com, who has averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 assists 4.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game so far in his high school career. In his junior year, he shot 41% from the 3-point line. The Farmington standout is rated the top boys’ basketball recruit in Utah by 247Sports.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated Utah Prospects was backed by Under Armour. It is actually backed by Adidas.
