Jason BatacaoBYU football lost two stars to injuries in the first half of Saturday’s 17-10 win over TCU.
Running back LJ Martin left with an apparent lower-body injury, and linebacker Isaiah Glasker exited after taking a hit during an interception return.
Both players were ruled out at halftime, according to ESPN.
Martin, the 2025 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, walked gingerly off the field in the first half and went into the blue medical tent. He later re-emerged before returning to the tent with BYU’s athletic trainers.
He was on the sideline wearing his helmet but never got the go-ahead to return to the game. Martin has been BYU’s leading rusher this season with 42 carries for 328 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
He had just two carries for 16 yards in the game before leaving with his injury. Martin has dealt with injuries in past seasons, including a shoulder dislocation that required surgery.

Glasker exited the contest after taking a hit during safety Faletau Satuala’s interception return.
He entered the medical tent before exiting with a towel on his head and sitting on the bench. Glasker, a 2025 All-Big 12 selection, has recorded 13 total tackles this season.
Without Martin, the Cougars’ offense was stuck in mud on a rainy evening in Fort Worth. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier was 11-for-24 for just 62 yards.
But he got it done with his legs.
Bachmeier had 66 yards rushing and two touchdowns, including a 21-yard scoring run with 2:06 remaining that gave the Cougars a 17-7 lead.
