Provo • The path is cleared for the Cougars to dance all the way into December.
No. 6 BYU has a shot at the Big 12 title game and a chance at the College Football Playoff.
All it needs now is to keep winning and it will lock up both goals.
But it won’t be easy.
Kansas may be 3-6, but its offense is humming. The Jayhawks poured in 45 points against Iowa State and are averaging 31 points per game.
Kansas is a balanced team, averaging over 200 yards rushing and passing. Add in that it has one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Jalon Daniels and there’s plenty of reason to take the Jayhawks seriously.
Defensive coordinator Jay Hill has been good at stopping the best quarterbacks in the league. But this might be a different challenge. And the Cougars will need to score points to stay in this game.
