West Virginia cruises past BYU in lopsided win

The Mountaineers tally over 300 yards on the ground as BYU’s offense is again lifeless.

Morgantown, W.Va • Late in the first half, down 17-0, BYU’s defense had a chance to keep it within striking distance.

West Virginia was looking at a third-and-9 in the red zone. It was about to stall out and kick another field goal. All the Cougars had to do was not allow a big play.

But on the next snap, Garrett Greene threw a strike between three defenders for a 12-yard touchdown. West Virginia went up 24-0 and ended up cruising for the rest of the night in 37-7 win over the Cougars.

BYU is now 5-4 and 2-4 in Big 12 play. It will see Iowa State in Provo next week.
