Only one Utah golfer makes the cut at Black Desert Championship

Former BYU golfer Zac Blair shoots 5-under to advance to the weekend.

The Black Desert Championship started with a long list of local connections.

But only former BYU golfer Zac Blair has made it to the weekend.

Blair just made the two-round cut, shooting 5-under during the first two days of the PGA Tour event in southern Utah. The tournament in Ivins is the first time the PGA has come to Utah in 60 years.

Kihei Akina, a senior at Lone Peak High School and a BYU commit, narrowly missed the cut, shooting 4-under.
