Salt Lake City says goodbye to the Bees in their final game at Smith’s Ballpark

The team will play at a new stadium in Daybreak next season.

On a warm Sunday afternoon, Salt Lake City said goodbye to its baseball team.

Some 13,450 fans filled the stands for the Salt Lake Bees’ final game at Smith’s Ballpark, the stadium that has been home to the team for the last 30 years — and a spot with more than 100 years of baseball history.

The Bees lost the game to the Oklahoma City Baseball Club by a score of 3-1.

Next season, the Bees will move to a new stadium in South Jordan’s Daybreak neighborhood.

The future of Smith’s Ballpark has yet to be decided.
