The Korn Ferry Tour’s Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank will stay at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington for a fifth year, the host Utah Sports Commission announced Wednesday.
The event’s venue was listed as “TBD” in November when the tour’s 2021 calendar was published, as the previous three-year contract with Oakridge expired. The $600,000 tournament is booked for Aug. 5-8, with Golf Channel providing live coverage of all four rounds in the second-to-last slot of the tour’s regular season.
The Utah Championship will be staged for the 30th time; Oakridge is the fourth site in the tournament’s history.
Kyle Jones won the 2020 event in a three-way playoff that included Farmington native Daniel Summerhays, who was making one of his last appearances as a touring pro. Summerhays is now a teacher and coach at Davis High School and likely will play in the 2021 tournament on his home course.
Patrick Fishburn, from Fremont High School and BYU, will resume his rookie season on the Korn Ferry Tour in the modified, expanded 2020-21 schedule.
Oakridge also will host the 115th Women’s State Amateur, June 28-July 1.
