Utah Championship receives August dates for the 2021 golf event

Utah’s annual stop on the Korn Ferry Tour is moving to August in 2021, creating more drama at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington as golfers play for PGA Tour access.

The Utah Championship, scheduled Aug. 5-8, is the second-to-last tournament of the regular season. The following week in Nebraska, 25 players will receive PGA Tour cards for the 2021-22 season and the next 50 players on the points list also will qualify for the three-event Korn Ferry Tour Finals.

The tour is staging a wraparound, 2020-21 season of 46 tournaments, due to COVID-19 scheduling adjustments.

Patrick Fishburn, from Fremont High School and BYU, will resume the season in February at No. 73 on the points list. Kyle Jones, who won a three-way playoff at Oakridge in June, is No. 30. Daniel Summerhays, now a teacher and coach at Davis High School, was among the playoff contestants and has access to tour events, if he chooses to play.
