Orem • Avery Sullivan had 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead five Lamar players in double figures as the Cardinals defeated Utah Valley 74-68 in a men’s basketball game Thursday night.

Cavit Havsa had 12 points for the Wolverines (3-3). Casdon Jardine added 11 points and 10 rebounds. TJ Washington had 10 points.

T.J. Atwood added 13 points for the Cardinals (4-1). Davion Buster chipped in 12 and Ellis Jefferson V.J. Holmes added 11 apiece.

Utah Valley is at North Dakota State on Saturday.

No. 13 BYU 3, Portland 0 • In Provo, the Cougars held the Pilots to a .071 hitting percentage and outblocked them 10-1 in a 25-15, 25-14, 25-17 victory at Smith Fieldhouse.

Taylen Ballard-Nixon had 11 kills and three blocks for BYU (23-4, 14-2 WCC).
