Utah Grizzlies fall to Idaho 3-2 in overtime Saturday night

West Valley City • Grizzlies forward Caleb Herbert scored a goal in his 6th straight game to tie the game at 2-2 in the third period but the Idaho Steelheads got an overtime goal from Brad McClure to win 3-2 at Maverik Center on Saturday night.

By forcing overtime, the Grizzlies have received a standings point in each of their first 6 games. Utah ended the weekend with 3 of 4 standings points against Idaho and 6 of 8 in the season series.

Idaho got on the scoreboard first as Joe Pendenza scored a power play goal 1:10 into the 2nd period to take a 1-0 lead. The Grizzlies tied up the game on the power play as Tim McGauley scored his 2nd goal of the season.

The Steelheads took a 2-1 lead on a Steve McParland goal 4:14 into the third period. McParland scored a goal in each game of the 2 game weekend series.
