Albert Rusnák has agreed in principle to a contract extension with Real Salt Lake, per a report by Stu Holden of Fox Sports 1.
The signing will reportedly make Rusnák the highest-paid player in RSL’s history. His previous contract was worth over $900,000 per year in total compensation, according to the MLS Players Association.
Team officials did not confirm the report to The Tribune.
The Tribune reported in May that Rusnák had grown frustrated with contract negotiations, which had been ongoing since January.
A team spokesperson confirmed to The Tribune that Rusnák did not travel with the team to Kansas City to tend to “a personal matter” and missed practice. He started Sunday’s game on the bench.
