The Extraordinary Salt City Wine & Dine Event Comes to La Caille Estate August 27

Sponsored: End your summer with the biggest wine and food celebration of the season!

On Aug. 27, the first-ever Salt City Wine & Dine event presented by Salt City Social and The Salt Lake Tribune will be hosted by La Caille Estate in Sandy, Utah, a charming and scenic estate with European flair nestled at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. The celebration (for guests age 21 and over) will feature dozens of food and drink vendors, live entertainment, and a one-of-a-kind VIP experience.

This exciting event is a collaboration with its partners, the Utah Restaurant Association and Taste Utah, as well as 2022 sponsors: Shades Brewing, Proper Brewing Co., Dented Brick Distillery®, Eight Settlers Distillery, Smith’s, Pirate O’s Gourmet Market, and VIDA TEQUILA brought to you by Lisa Barlow of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, who will be attending the event to personally showcase her top-shelf tequila to guests.

One of the local distilleries that will be wowing guests is Eight Settlers Distillery, which was founded by two immigrants from Romania and Brazil, Radu and Katia Dugala, who opened their grand distillery and restaurant in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, fulfilling their American Dream. As a food and spirit sponsor of the Salt City Wine & Dine event, Eight Settlers will be serving an hors d’oeuvre and one of their new and very unique house cocktails: The Pink Dragon. This cocktail is crafted with their house-made Green Ditch Gin, dragon fruit simple syrup, fresh lemon, ginger, and a spritz of absinthe to finish.

“My mouth is watering just thinking about the hors d’oeuvre Chef Andrew Lunn has curated for the event: the Short Rib Crostini,” says Katia Dugala. “The braised short rib will be served with Cambozola cheese, apricot jam, fried garlic and micro greens, on a locally made focaccia crostini. While this item is not on our regular menu, it will give the event goers the opportunity to experience a little bit of our menu flavors and of our talented chef’s cuisine.”

As a new addition to the Salt Lake City restaurant and distillery scene, Eight Settlers is excited to work alongside their local businesses and be a part of this very special event. Their team is looking forward to engaging with the community and for the opportunity to establish their reputation with other Utah veteran distilleries and restaurants, says Dugala. “See you all there!”

Come for the food and drinks, stay for the entertainment!

On top of the mouth-watering food and drinks provided at the event, the Salt City Wine & Dine event has a stellar entertainment line-up that will keep attendees engaged in the later part of the evening. From DJ Chris Clouse to The Voice’s Blaine Long Trio, to Rodney Reyes, a magician and mentalist, to Kenny Fong, a local saxophonist, to a live painter and tarot card reader—guests will be wowed by each artist’s unique presentation as well as their collective talents.

Salt City Wine & Dine will feature a vendor BINGO where attendees will have a bingo card with different vendors to go see and check them off. The BINGO cards will be collected towards the end of the evening and two winners will be selected to receive a gift basket. Of the gift baskets, one is white wine-themed and beachy; the second is romantic and red wine night-themed.
