It’s time to talk about one of Utah’s diciest divides: tensions between current and former members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Wait, you say. That’s all people in Utah talk about.

Maybe. But we at The Salt Lake Tribune think it wouldn’t hurt to move those conversations beyond the silos and social media comments where they so often occur. To do that, we need your help.

For those who fall into the camp of former or current Latter-day Saints — or perhaps have one foot in and one foot out of the faith that dominates the state’s culture and politics — we hope you’ll take a few minutes to complete the survey below.

With your permission, we will use your responses as part of our reporting on the third installment of our “Unspoken Divide” series. The project, which began with stories about the state’s religious divide on neighbors and dating, is part of our ongoing commitment to highlighting the stories of everyday Utahns and serving the communities that have invested so much in us.

We hope you’ll be part of it.
