The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts was first proposed in 1964 and opened its doors to the public in 1971. It was named after former President Kennedy, one of our better presidents and a war hero. In addition to the largest assembly hall it also has smaller auditoriums, one of which is called the Eisenhower Center.
Over the years, they have honored hundreds and hundreds of people from all walks of life. The list is endless. I have watched reruns of many of them on YouTube. Some of my favorites were Neil Diamond, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCarthy, Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Robert Duvall — along with dozens of others.
A few months ago our narcissistic president decided he wanted his name added to the center. Without anyone’s permission, he had his name installed. A federal judge ordered him to remove it. Rather than follow the judge’s order, he just covered it with tarps planning to remove them sometime in the near future.
Several months ago he ordered the name of the Gulf of Mexico be renamed to the Gulf of America. It has been called the Gulf of Mexico for several hundred years. Recently, he also ordered Lake Ontario to be renamed Lake America. Lake Ontario is one of the five lakes on our northern border bordering Canada. Ontario is the name given the lake by Native Americans (Iroquois) living on both sides of it for centuries.
Because of this and some of the other stupid and ridiculous things he has done, including a war that we are currently losing, I propose that all alleyways, sidewalks, streets, roads, freeways, airports, football stadiums, all buildings over three stories high and movie theaters be renamed after the narcissistic president. Disneyland, SeaWorld, the Grand Ole Opry House, Greyhound buses and Amtrak trains should also bear his name. That should quell his ego — for a while anyway. Perhaps just to own the libs he could change the name of California to Trumpland.
I am confident that all the current members of Congress from Utah would approve of this since they approve of everything else he does.
