I’m all in behind RFK Jr., our new Secretary of Health and Human Services, who “has a mandate” to protect the health and safety of the nation, as long as he understands that means he will:

  • Work to eliminate fossil fuels so we can all breathe more easily
  • Support medical research so not so many of us die from cancer, multiple sclerosis, lung, heart and cerebrovascular diseases, cancer, Alzheimer’s, etc.
  • Push for funding for safe water supplies throughout the country and the world
  • Promote medical legislation that gives parents and children, born and unborn, a reasonable chance of a “good” life
  • Support air, rail and auto safety to keep us alive
  • Wield his authority to reduce gun violence; the leading cause of death among U.S. children and teens
  • Speak up for decent wages and benefits for first responders who often risk their lives to come at the drops of our hats to help in emergencies
  • And I hope he will work cooperatively with other nations around the globe to help make the whole planet a healthy and well-serviced world.

As long as he follows that “mandate,” I’ll have his back.

    Andy White, Holladay
