Why should any LDS person be surprised by Trump’s rush to be BFF with Putin, alienate our global allies, and collaborate with Russia to end the awful occupation of Ukrainian Russia by Zelensky and his cohorts? Isn’t that exactly what his predecessor, Amalakiah the First, did over two millennia ago.

I used to wonder what it would have been like, had there been no Captain Moroni and Amalakiah the First had won. I’m afraid we’re about to find out — as Amalakiah the Great conspires with our mortal enemies to overthrow our government.

And no, Sen. Lee, no matter how many times you say it or deny saying it, Donald Trump is nothing like Captain Moroni. He is, beyond any doubt, the very antithesis of Captain Moroni.

He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He waves the Bible like you wave the Constitution as a prop for show; but clearly — like you — knows nothing about the contents of his prop, but he does know how to use his prop to dupe the naïve and gullible masses.

Trump mingles the dictatorial leadership style to which he aspires with occasional forays into scripture (i.e., what he has had others tell him is contained in scripture, since he doesn’t ever read anything) to quiet his base; and he has no qualms about extolling the magnificence of having generals who are absolutely loyal to him, as does Putin and Xi and as did Hitler. However, the fact still remains that he is evil and, as he repeatedly demonstrates, his goal is to have absolute power — since he has already achieved absolute corruption.
