Utah’s elected leaders have abandoned their duty and oath to the people of Utah and the Constitution. Sens. Mike Lee and John Curtis, along with House representatives, are prioritizing their own political safety over the well-being of Utahns. Their silence in the face of growing threats is not just a failure of leadership, it is a betrayal of their oath and the trust of those who elected them.
A vote for Donald Trump was a vote for a secure border and lower prices, not for Project 2025, not for isolation, and certainly not for aligning with Russia. Yet, our leaders remain silent as democracy erodes.
We, the people of Utah, work hard and pay taxes expecting leadership that prioritizes our well-being. Instead, we are witnessing the destruction of social safety nets that millions rely upon. The cost of living is skyrocketing, homeownership is unattainable for many, and rent, food and health care costs are out of control. Homelessness and food insecurity have surged under their watch.
By embracing Trump’s quest for absolute power and siding with unelected oligarchs like Musk, Utah’s representatives have betrayed their oath to serve the people. Prioritizing political power over principle, they have abandoned Utah families, allowing extremism to thrive, opportunities to disappear, and quality of life to decline.
Utah should be a beacon of prosperity, education and family values. Utahns are watching. We are angry. And we will not forget these failures when election season comes.
It’s time to step up and place people over party and work toward real solutions that benefit all Utahns, not just the wealthiest, not just the powerful, but every single citizen who calls this state home.
