As our new president changes the names of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and Mount Denali to Mount McKinley there are three likely outcomes.
First, the government will incur a very large cost to reprint all the relevant literature, maps, brochures, procedures, etc., to address these changes, including the time necessary to find, make, publish, distribute and train people on the changed material.
This will easily cost in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Second, 99% of the people (100% outside the U.S.) will ignore these changes and continue to refer to these places by their old names. In other words, there will be no impact in actual practice.
Third, as a precedent has now been set by this president, his successor can/will do the same.
Maybe Mount McKinley becomes Mount Billy Bob and we have the Gulf of Red Robin.
