Letter: The struggle for a world in which we love our neighbors and treat others as we want to be treated must go on

The election may be over, but don’t be surprised if you still see me sporting my Harris/Walz hat or my Madam President shirt. Why wear these now, you ask?

To show immigrants that I welcome them;

To show women that I defend their right to bodily autonomy;

To show gay people that I believe love is love;

To show trans people that I affirm their right to exist;

To show Black people that their lives matter to me;

To show Harris voters that they are not alone; and

To show Trump voters that I am not intimidated by his threats of violence.

The election may be over, but the struggle for a world in which we love our neighbors and treat others as we want to be treated must go on.
