So Republican apologist Corey Norman wrote an op-ed praising and defending his long-time boss John Curtis for refusing to answer the simple and important questions in the Tribune’s Voter Guide that other candidates willingly and openly answered.
Norman’s reply was an explanation typical of all our uncaring, untransparent state government officials: twisted dishonest logic we are expected to accept gratefully and without question.
Norman’s exact quote is: “To suggest that John and his team are not open to all questions is simply untrue.” But of course it is 100% true! Curtis and his team clearly refused to answer simple questions that all Tribune readers, indeed all citizens deserved to hear.
Someone needs to tell Norman a politician doesn’t get to only answer only the questions he likes. And politicians like Curtis certainly don’t get to make up the questions. That’s the public’s job.
Norman appears to be “gaslighting” us. It looks to me that the Curtis team led by Norman will simply be the latest in a long line of Utah politicians who don’t think Utah residents deserve honest logical answers.
