Letter: Trump’s river of lies threatens to destroy our nation

Wisdom has it that denial is not a river in Egypt. Denial flows, however, through parched deserts of cruel ambition, disgorging its noxious fluids into oceans filled with trashy vocabularies, reflective less of our great nation than of a lazy, contemptuous culture not worth our attention, much less our resources. From the moment when this culture seeped down the escalator into our consciousness, we have endured Donald Trump’s contaminated river of lies.

Enough. For honorable, beleaguered places like Puerto Rico, Springfield, Aurora, Charleroi, and even the White House, Donald Trump and his fellow deceivers have fabricated pyramids of falsehood, a trash heap of historic landscapes littered with denial after denial, greater in magnitude and number than any previous period in our nation’s illustrious history.

Now, less than a week before Election Day, Trump grins at House Speaker Mike Johnson and claims that a “secret” they hold close will deliver not the legitimate election, but rather white supremacy to him, and him alone, so he can wear it like another apron at his let’s-pretend McDonalds.

What a pathetic loser, intent on our nation’s destruction, amplifying the stench of his private atmospheric river flowing from Mar-a-Lago.
