Why does the truth about elections matter to Utah and our nation?
Bottom line: People act differently when they don’t have the truth. The Jan. 6 rioters were deceived by a president who lied to them.
Political lies can lead to political hostility, the acceptance of political violence as necessary, and ultimately to political violence, even here in Utah.
A 2023 PRRI survey found that nearly one in four Americans believe “because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country.”
People simply act differently when they are told falsely that their country has been stolen from them.
Knowing the truth makes us informed citizens and we can more appropriately deal with contentious issues that may arise.
Knowing the truth changes how we as citizens act, how we speak, how we feel, and how we vote.
Here is the truth. 1. The 2020 election was not stolen from Donald Trump. 2. Donald Trump and others tried through multiple unlawful means to change the outcome of the election contrary to the will of the voters.
I invite anyone who is skeptical to watch the Jan. 6 committee hearings.
The truth will keep our nation peaceful.
The truth will keep our nation free.
