Letter: What saddens me about those who will vote for Trump

I’m fortunate enough to travel a bit throughout the western U.S. I talk to people, naturally, but never about politics. That would be as constructive as discussing how gravity affects the flow of sewage.

I see where you live, and how you live, what vehicles you drive, where you work and your recreation choices. I see your flags and bumper stickers. Beyond that, I get information and opinions from a wide range of sources: news feeds, newspapers, radio programs, magazines, television and blogs. I even stomach some social media streams.

I must conclude that some of you will vote for Donald Trump, and I can’t change that. But it saddens me to think some of you will die believing he will do something helpful for you.

Martin Neunzert, Ogden
