Letter: Hurray for Salt Lake City! They approved the sports district in record time!

It’s about time that the great Salt Lake City sports district was approved! I cannot understand all the naysayers. They act as if cities are for people! What absurdity. If we allow the common folk to claim our cities and towns where will us investors park our money?

Unlike the rabble, we investors are the true progressive patrons of the arts. I don’t understand this fuss over Abravanel Hall. We have algorithms to write and perform classical music now but can Mozart hit a three-pointer?

When was the last time Bach had a hat trick?

Cities are the new castles. The new gated communities for the new lords of finance and tech. We are finally returning to the real good old days. Feudalism was when men were men and women were princesses to be married off to form alliances.

Hurray for Salt Lake City! They approved the sports district in record time! Glory to money! Beautiful money! Soon this city will be nothing but money! Our money! The peasants will be banished. We will clear them with outrageous rents!

Why should we care about people? They are unreliable assets. Unlike city councils, they don’t always do what we want!
