Letter: The Utah Capitol is meant to be a safe space for us Republicans

As a registered member of the Republican Party, I would like to voice my support of the proposed amendment. I have had enough of the people who believe their voices should matter.

There is nothing more abhorrent than the idea that the nearly forty percent of Utahns who vote Democrat should have representation in Congress. It’s bad enough that there are still Democratic representatives in our state House and Senate.

The Utah Capitol is meant to be a safe space for us Republicans!

The Democrats are useless. They are always arguing against our initiatives. It’s a good thing they have no power — but we shouldn’t have to even listen. They are like children and should be seen and not heard (and not even seen!). They never have anything good to say.

As for the people outside the Capitol with their fantastical ideas of direct democracy and voter initiatives: Who told you that you had the right? The Utah Constitution?

Well, maybe that is true, but sometimes even the wisest men make mistakes and this one must be remedied!
