Since the Supreme Court made abortion laws the responsibility of the states, the laws will be widely different. In some states, laws will be quite strict, with severe penalties for doctors and patients involved in abortions. However, many women have natural miscarriages through no fault of their own. Miscarriages look like abortions. I predict that women’s health care providers and women of childbearing age would leave those states in droves. I also predict that those women who can’t leave will have thousands of unwanted babies and will make a lot of them wards of the state.
Is that the outcome you are looking for, Utah? A shortage of doctors and young women and a quiverfull of unwanted children?
