Letter: Sounds like Sen. Lee needs a primer on what constitutes “cheating”

Utah Sen. Mike Lee says that Joe Biden remaining as president after withdrawing from the campaign for the 2024 election “feels like cheating.”

No, Sen. Lee. Cheating is trying to send false slates of electors. Cheating is calling an election official to try to reverse the results of a state’s vote. Cheating is denying a hearing for a Supreme Court nominee. Cheating is trying to get your vice president to deny the results of the Electoral College vote. Cheating is hiding one’s tryst with a porn star from voters before an election. Cheating is stealing classified documents and refusing to return them.

Sen. Lee, I don’t recall hearing your outrage when any of those things happened. Pray tell, what could possibly be the difference? Your disregard for ethics in all those situations is appalling.

Dennis R. Edmonds, Sandy
