Letter: As a resident of Utah I am embarrassed that my state is suing TikTok

(Kent Nishimura | The New York Times) TikTok creator Emmy Combs, center, near other TikTok supporters, watches a feed of the House vote as they gather outside the Capitol in Washington, March 13, 2024. TikTok has invited dozens of its stars to Washington in recent days as it has scrambled to fight a bill that would force TikTok’s Chinese owner, ByteDance, to sell the popular app or have it banned in the U.S. Many of those creators met with lawmakers then posted about their opposition to the bill.

I have been using TikTok for over three years and have never seen pornography.

Seen a lot of people with tight and revealing clothes, but that is common with other social media apps too.

TikTok’s algorithm will only show you more posts similar to the ones you like and make comments on.

Not sure what Spencer Cox and Sean Reyes are doing on TikTok to be seeing child pornography.

Previously it had been reported that Utah leaders were exploring ways to blame China for Utah’s bad air quality.

As a resident of Utah I am embarrassed that my state is suing TikTok. And my viewpoint probably represents a large part of the state population.

Gov. Cox and Attorney General Reyes should stop filing frivolous lawsuits attempting to make fast money from China. Just because it’s China.
