We are now “woke” to the fact that the white Europeans who settled the original thirteen colonies, were settlers who usurped land from indigenous people. We understand that England colonized India, instituting English values and laws which favored the Brits. We know Belgium did the same in the Congo and France did the same in Algeria. In fact, the 19th century was the century of European colonization at the detriment of indigenous people.
Now we understand how cruel and wrong this was. We would never repeat it.
But we are repeating it. We are allowing the same thing to happen on our watch!
Israel is a colonizing power and is breaking international law by usurpring land and building permanent structures, and moving its population onto the indigenous land where Palestinians live. Palestine would like to be its own country, but it can’t because Israel wants its land.
Yes, colonial settlements are happening right under our eyes.
The U.S. could stop this in one minute if we refused to provide Israel the $3.8 billion we give them every year. The U.S. are participants in this evil enterprise.
