Letter: Kudos to the medical staff, firefighters and others in the Salt Lake Valley who give so much to our community

With all the divisiveness that seems to be overwhelming our society, I would like to give a shout out to the firefighters and paramedics of Millcreek, emergency room staff and medical staff at the University

of Utah Hospital. I had to call the paramedics on July 15 for a medical emergency for myself. They arrived within 5-10 minutes — professional, efficient, kind with me as I was scared.

At arrival at the University Hospital Emergency Room, the caring professionals took over. A special shout out to Nurse Petra who explained, answered any questions and reassured me with the procedures that were ongoing. Upon admittance to the cardiology floor, my care was exemplary!

Nurses, physicians, aides, respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, pharmacists, cleaning crew: Oh my goodness. So great!

This great care was given even though they are understaffed, as are many industries, following the pandemic.

We, in the Salt Lake Valley, are so blessed to have these caring professionals in our community.

I can’t thank you enough.

Marion Lennberg, Millcreek
