Letter: It’s time to wake up before America is bankrupt — financially and morally

I’m not in favor of Donald Trump as a politician or even as a human, but there is one area where he is probably the best in the world.

When Trump burst on the scene the acknowledged leader in that area was forced to retire early several years before his death in 2021 at the age of 82. So Trump not only has an example to learn from, but he now has less competition. I’m talking, of course, of Bernie Madoff and his Ponzi scheme which left him with some $75 million when he died.

Trump will be 76 next month. His fortune, in contrast to Madoff’s, was recently estimated at $2.5 billion. But that comparison doesn’t allow for inflation or the ability to reach a much larger audience through television. In any case, Trump, as usual, claims it’s much bigger.

Are you enjoying being conned? Have you donated to Trump or Republicans lately? It’s probably time to wake up before America is bankrupt — financially and morally. We are very close on both scores if we aren’t already there. Today, you just can’t trust the numbers!
