Letter: Strong baseball-related coverage would be a good complement to landing an MLB team

I have lived in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area for 47 years. In that time The Salt Lake Tribune has had the worst baseball coverage of most major city newspapers. Looking for a box score? Forget it!

If you do find a baseball related article in the Sports section the odds are it’s from a news service and usually covering an unusual event. For that matter, if you are looking for baseball scores on the evening news, better be wearing your glasses to read the ticker-tape banner scrolling by.

If Salt Lake City expects to land a MLB franchise, it’s going to need more than a new stadium. How about fans to fill the seats? First step to increase the fan base is to increase baseball-related news coverage.
