Paul Mero’s opinion (“LDS Church makes bad decisions based on fear”) is that those responsible at Ensign Peak should be fired, as should advising attorneys, and the responsible “brethren” should be put out to pasture.

Those “brethren” would be none other than the LDS Church First Presidency.

If Mero had read the SEC order, it states in no uncertain terms that church leadership (defined as The First Presidency) was ultimately responsible for the hiding money decision. The order was negotiated and agreed to by the church, so, Paul Mero, according to you, the LDS Church First Presidency should be put out to pasture.
