There is a poet, Nan Seymour, holding a vigil at Great Salt Lake. She has been at the lake since the beginning of this legislative session.
Nan is using her talent to raise awareness of the death of this lake that has given so much to this state. She has invited our legislators to come witness the shrinking lake and has been among the many Utahns who are begging our state leaders to take action to save the lake.
I have watched many of my neighbors rip out lawns and install drip systems as a means of water conservation.
There is a collective effort to help save our lake. How can it be that the leaders who actually have the power to save the lake are more concerned with when schools celebrate Halloween? Please do your job. Our lives depend on it.
In the absence of local leadership, our last hope may be the EPA. Please submit comments to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) at the Federal eRulemaking Portal (preferred method according to the EPA).
