Like almost everyone I expected the Utah Jazz basketball team to be awful this year after unloading their best players including two all-stars for a bunch of future draft picks.
Evidently new Jazz coach, Will Hardy, didn’t get the memo from the top brass — probably instructing him to tank the season in order to get those high draft picks.
Unbelievably, the Jazz players didn’t buy into expectations of 25-30 wins and got off to a hot start, making CEO Danny Ainge look like a genius rather than an idiot in the eyes of many fans like myself.
Hardy has taken a group of misfits and castoffs to a great beginning with new star Lauri Markkanen, a 7-footer who can actually shoot. Maybe all the Jazz needed was a new coach with fresh ideas and motivation to make the team great again.
