Billboards are big, ugly and provide visual pollution throughout our state. We’re bombarded with them everywhere. It was bad enough when they were brightly lit, blocking our views. But now they flash like giant TV screens lighting up our roadways and neighborhoods. When will our elected officials realize that people do not pay attention to billboards anymore and most of us do not want them in our neighborhoods or cluttering our roadways. It’s time for our elected officials to realize that billboards are like phone books. Outdated! If we need or want something, we look online. It’s time to put a stop to the overzealous need these companies have to create visual blight in our communities and our beautiful state. There needs to be more oversight, not less!
