Well, I, too, am shocked, simply shocked, that Stephen C. Pace is so shocked that the state of Utah has again become embroiled in another cockup when it comes to spending public money.
Had not an inquiry been made into plans to spend millions of dollars on unproven medicine, this cockup would have gone unnoticed and the entire kerfuffle would have gone off as planned.
This state can’t do anything when it comes to public money that does not get messed up. Look at the prison. Way over budget. The list of over-budget and shady deals is so endless that I cannot even start to list them.
It is a shame that most of us are so used to some type of discovery of wrongdoing that we shrug our shoulders and just say, “Well, that’s Utah for you,” and go about our busy lives.
It makes one wonder what has escaped our notice? This is a prime example of why we need a nosy press. And so it goes.
