I read with great interest the letter from Mr. James Oshust, “Some more equal than others,” and it brought back fond memories of a treasured book from George Orwell.

Mr. Oshust is correct that the pigs who were the leaders, Napoleon and Snowball, grew more corrupt as they became more powerful. The official party propaganda/slogan did indeed become, “All animals are created equal but some are more equal than others” as a cloak to hide their self-serving, unethical and possibly illegal activities.

I think Mr. Oshust needs to correctly assign Napoleons and Snowballs attributes to the actions of the Trump administration, and not the House of Representatives.

Compare the “rules don’t apply to me” ethos of the Trump administration (failure to release transcript of the entire phone call with Ukraine, failure to comply with subpoenas, obstruction of justice, etc) as the modern equivalent of Orwell’s “some are more equal than others.”

If searching for an apt current-day comparison with a central character from “Animal Farm,” perhaps Mr. Oshust should look in the mirror and think of poor old Boxer.
