As evidenced by your March 24 article about The Exchange project in downtown Salt Lake City, there has been a big push in recent years to develop along our transit lines in the hope of increasing ridership and decreasing the need for personal vehicles.
I applaud this effort, but I am frustrated that the city and UTA have not made one key change along 400 South that will greatly improve the TRAX experience: mid-block crossings.
Mid-block crossings along the stretch of road from the library stop to the 900 East stop would make TRAX extremely easy to use for all the people living in those new developments and for all the people hoping to take advantage of the new retail opportunities.
Want to reduce bad air days and get people using transit? Then make the city more pedestrian friendly.
