Well, Utah, the election is over, and for a midterm election, you showed up in force. Now the hard part starts.
It is time for the citizens of this country to let their senators and congresspeople know that “business as usual” is not going to be tolerated in Washington. As strong of an opinion as I have against the current occupant of the White House, our elected leaders need to move forward with resolving our critical issues. I of course refer to health care, immigration reform, tax reform, climate change, deficits, Infrastructure rebuilding, and a myriad of other critical issues. We do not need to be bogged down with partisan activity on impeachment and other investigations. It is our job to make sure our elected officials stay on point and move forward to resolve our country’s critical issues. Failure is not an option at this juncture.
This is where the hard part comes in. You have voted; now keep the heat on. Call, email or mail your representative. Be proactive. Let them know that a) you voted, and b) your intent is to hold them accountable to the voters of Utah. We should, no, we MUST do this.
