Shame on the LDS Church for interfering with Proposition 2 and attempting to deny the will of the people of Utah. If ever there were a case to review the tax-exempt status of the LDS Church, it is now.
That’s right, I called it the LDS Church — get over it.
Whatever the LDS Church preaches to its members in church meetings is its business. But when the “church” starts to help draft legislation, then we the people need to re-evaluate where the separation of church and state starts and ends.
I’m afraid the LDS Church thinks that it is “the true governing body” of Utah. Sorry to inform “The Church,” but we are a democratic republic, with a clear divide between church and state. Welcome to taxation, boys!
