Glenn Wright: Why I’m the right choice for Utah’s 3rd District

Together we can create a brighter future and pave the way to freedom and prosperity for every Utahn.

As a candidate for Utah’s District 3, my mission is to deliver solutions that lead to greater freedom and prosperity. My background as a Vietnam veteran and aeronautical engineer, along with my career in industrial safety and insurance, equips me with proven leadership skills to address today’s challenges. With a strong track record as a public servant and bipartisan endorsements, I am committed to serving both urban and rural Utahns, ensuring every voice is heard and supported.

My commitment to service

My public service began with two tours in Vietnam. I took an oath to defend the Constitution — a commitment that has shaped my life. Beyond the battlefield, I built a successful career in aeronautical engineering and industrial safety. I worked on high-profile international projects within my insurance career, receiving recognition for my contributions. This blend of military service and professional expertise gives me the ability to address Utah’s challenges with practical, effective solutions.

Fighting for economic justice

COVID-19 turned our economy upside down, and we acted quickly to protect jobs and families, averting a full-blown recession. While the pandemic highlighted economic inequalities, the deeper issue is the decades-long concentration of wealth in the top 1%. As your congressman, I will fight for fair wages, affordable housing and a free market that works for everyone — not just the wealthy. I am committed to ensuring an economy that benefits all Utahns.

Housing that works for Utahns

Utah’s housing crisis is one of my top priorities. As a former Summit County Councilman and Habitat for Humanity board member, I’ve worked on housing policies and built homes with my own hands. My record of creating affordable housing through smart zoning and development incentives shows that I know how to solve these challenges. Utah needs leadership that prioritizes affordable housing, ensuring long-term stability for our communities.

Defending the Constitution and democracy

My commitment to defending the Constitution is more critical than ever. We cannot support candidates who undermine democracy or infringe on constitutional freedoms. I have taken an oath to protect this country, uphold the rule of law and safeguard our freedoms. As a veteran, I know that defending the Constitution means protecting the rights of all Americans, not just those who agree with me. As a steadfast defender of the Constitution, my promise to Utah is to always prioritize the Constitution and democracy, ensuring your security and protection.

Personal agency and family values

I am uniquely positioned to represent Utah’s diverse families. As a father to adopted children of color and with loved ones in the LGBTQ+ community, I deeply understand the importance of protecting personal freedom and family values. Every individual and family deserves the right to make their own choices, including family-planning decisions. I will advocate for policies that protect individual rights and constitutional freedoms for all Utahns.

I respect Utah’s diverse beliefs and am committed to protecting the rights of all citizens. Personal agency is not about imposing one viewpoint over another; it’s about ensuring everyone has the freedom to make decisions based on their values. Utah understands this well, and I will fight to uphold that principle for all.

A balanced approach to immigration

Immigration is a critical issue for Utah that demands a comprehensive approach. We cannot focus solely on border security without addressing the root causes of undocumented immigration. I advocate for a balanced strategy that includes enhanced border security, a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and an increase in work and education visas. Addressing the social and economic factors driving immigration is key to sustainable reform.

This approach will stabilize the workforce, protect vulnerable workers from exploitation and ensure long-term economic growth. A humane, moral plan that prioritizes border security and enhances our immigration system aligns with Utah’s values and will create a stronger future for all.

The right choice for District 3

I believe I am the clear leader District 3 needs — an advocate with real solutions for all Utahns, from veterans and working families to diverse communities. Utah deserves better than leadership that discriminates and ignores constitutional protections. With my lifetime of service, professional expertise and unwavering commitment to defending democracy, I am ready to lead.

My campaign, powered by an all-women team, reflects the values of personal freedom, inclusivity and economic fairness. Together, we can create a brighter future and pave the way to freedom and prosperity for every Utahn.
